Augustus is hét moment om je badkamer dit te gunnen. Raam open, handdoeken nog vochtig, koele tegels onder je voeten – en aan de muur tegenover het bad een marineblauwe octopus die de hele ruimte laat aanvoelen als een dag aan zee. Het roze doet het zware werk: tegen witte tegels oogt het warm en speels, en voorkomt het een klinische sfeer in de maanden waarin je juist vakantiegevoel wilt. Hang het op de smalle muur naast de wastafel, zo dat de ogen op gelijke hoogte zijn met de jouwe in de spiegel. Hou de plank eronder rustig: één houten borstel en een stuk zeep is genoeg. In de winter blijft het sterk. Marineblauw is een serieuze kleur en zorgt dat het speelse accent niet gaat vervelen. Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.
Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?
Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.
You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.
How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Passen de roze tinten bij simpele witte badkamers tegels?
Ja, en beter dan je misschien verwacht. Het roze is een zachte pleistertint in plaats van een zoete tint, dus tegen witte tegels oogt het warm in plaats van meisjesachtig. Navy geeft het genoeg gewicht om stand te houden op een lichte muur. Als je voeg grijs is of je vloer donker, pakt het navy dat op en wordt het roze het enige warme in de ruimte, en juist daar doet het zijn beste werk.
Hoe hoog moet ik gaan op een smalle gangmuur?
Ga hoger dan je instinct zegt. Op een muur van 50 tot 70 cm breed vult een poster van ongeveer 100 cm hoog de strook en oogt hij als een bewuste keuze in plaats van een restje. Centreer hem op ongeveer 145 cm van de vloer, zodat de ogen op volwassen ooghoogte zitten. Laat de rest van de muur leeg. Een kapstok of spiegel ernaast maakt de tentakels benauwd en breekt het effect.
Is navy niet te donker voor een kinderkamer?
In de praktijk niet. Ongeveer de helft van het werk is roze, en de navy figuur heeft een vriendelijk gezicht en een handgeschilderde uitstraling waardoor kinderen het als een karakter zien, niet als iets dreigends. In een kamer met witte of lichtroze muren geeft het diepte zonder somber te worden. Combineer het met navy beddengoed of een navy vloerkleed en het brengt de kamer samen. In een kamer die al donkerblauw geverfd is, zou het wegvallen, dus houd de muur licht.
