Sommige botanische werken passen in een kamer. Deze bepaalt de toon. Gustav Klimts Mohnfeld (1907) toont een dicht geschilderd veld: diepe groentinten met verspreide rode klaprozen, kleine blauwe en witte bloemen en bovenin een zachte strook lucht. Hang het op en de muur is geen achtergrond meer. In een rustige ruimte ontstaat het gevoel van een zomers landhuis. Het werk komt het best tot zijn recht als solostuk boven een bank, dressoir of halconsole, op een muur in salie, leem of gebroken wit. Combineer met linnen, warm hout en aardewerk. Vermijd drukke patronen of andere luide bloemen ernaast — dit stuk heeft ruimte nodig. Op canvas verzacht het gespikkelde penseelwerk en oogt het als een echt schilderij.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Vallen de rode klaprozen niet te veel uit de toon bij een groene bank of groene muren?
Nee, ze zitten binnen hetzelfde geschilderde veld, dus de rode tinten lezen als kleine accenten in een groter groen geheel in plaats van als een concurrerend kleurvlak. Op salie-, olijf- of donkergroene muren voelt het werk juist mooi in balans. Tegen een warmere crème- of kleimuur komen de rode tinten iets sterker naar voren zonder schreeuwerig te worden.

Is dit niet te druk voor een kleine kamer?
Helemaal niet. Het werk is rijk aan detail, maar de kleuren zijn ingetogen en de algehele toon is zacht groen, dus het overheerst een kamer niet. In een kleinere ruimte hang je het het best als één enkel anker, in plaats van het te combineren met andere drukke stukken, en geef je het een kale muur en rustige meubels eromheen.

Moet het een luxe gouden lijst hebben om als een Klimt te voelen?
Zeker niet. Goud past bij de periode en verwarmt de rode tinten, maar een slanke zwarte lijst geeft het een meer eigentijdse museumlook, en een warme bruine houten lijst benadrukt juist het landhuisgevoel. Kies de lijst die bij je kamer past, niet bij de reputatie van de kunstenaar.
