Deze poster komt het mooist tot zijn recht in de late middag. Hang hem op een overloop waar de lage westerzon binnenvalt: de bleke strook van de rivier vangt het licht nog een uur voordat de muur doffer wordt. Op een oostmuur krijg je hetzelfde effect bij het ontbijt. De sepia-tinten reageren subtiel op het daglicht. Overdag oogt het geheel zacht beige en warm bruin tegen een kalkwit of offwhite muur. Bij lamplicht verdiepen de donkere hellingen en krijgt het werk de warme toon van oud notenhout. Voor het sterkste effect: houd de muur rustig en effen, zonder patronen binnen een meter eromheen. Hang de poster een handbreedte lager dan je eerste gevoel zegt, bijvoorbeeld op de smalle wand tussen twee ramen; zo benut je de hoogte van een hoge muur optimaal. How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Wordt mijn donkere hal hier niet nog donkerder van?

Minder dan je zou verwachten. Het grootste deel van het oppervlak is licht beige, en de lichte strook van de rivier loopt over de hele hoogte, waardoor hij aan de muur eerder als een lichtere vorm leest dan als een donkere. Combineer hem met een warm gebroken witte muur en één lamp aan de voet van de trap, dan voelt de hal warmer, niet somberder. Een koele grijze muur kun je beter overslaan, want die maakt de bruintinten modderig.

Hoe hoog moet ik gaan op een trapmuur?

Kies hoger dan comfortabel voelt. Op een bordes kijk je er van onderaf en van een afstand naar, dus een stuk onder 80 cm hoog valt weg als een ansichtkaart. Rond 100 cm hoog en 50 cm breed vult een standaard muur op een bordes mooi, met aan beide kanten nog wat ruimte. Meet vanaf de bovenkant van de plint en laat minimaal 20 cm vrij erboven.

Moet het in een neutrale kamer hangen, of kan het ook bij kleur?

Het staat juist prima bij diepe kleuren. Muurkleuren als flesgroen, navy of oxblood laten het beige oplichten en de bruintinten rijker lijken, en een donkergroene werkkamer is de sterkste combinatie van allemaal. Wat minder goed werkt is middelsterke kleur in de buurt, zoals lila of mint, want dan oogt het sepia stoffig. Houd de muur diep of juist licht.
