    Kies eerst de lijst, daarna de muur. In zwart worden de inktlijnen strakker en krijgt het werk een grafische uitstraling – ideaal voor een keuken met witte tegels en een stalen spatwand. Kies je bruin, dan oogt het als een gevonden prent, precies het soort dat je boven een geschuurde grenen tafel in een boerderijwe keuken verwacht. Wit doet het minst, en soms is dat juist de bedoeling: op een crèmekleurige muur valt de achtergrond weg en laat je de kreeft spreken. Onze favoriet is zwart. Hang het lang en laag boven een dressoir in de eetkamer – lager dan je denkt – zodat het in de ooglijn van iedereen aan tafel zit. De crèmekleurige achtergrond krijgt warmte bij kaarslicht. Laat die muur verder leeg voor maximaal effect. Op canvas zorgt de omgeslagen rand voor een natuurlijke omlijsting, en met een zwarte lijst om het canvas krijg je die strakke lijn weer terug.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    Voelt zwart en crème niet te hard in een warme keuken?

    Nee, de crèmekleurige ondergrond doet het meeste werk en leest als warm papier in plaats van wit. In een keuken met eiken of grenen geeft de zwarte inkt het hout iets om tegenaan te zetten, en de hele muur oogt doordachter. De enige plek waar het koel kan ogen is tegen puur briljantwitte glanskasten; dan verzacht een bruine lijst het geheel.

    Hoe breed moet het zijn boven een dressoir of eettafel?

    Richt je op ongeveer twee derde van de breedte van het meubel, wat voor de meeste dressoirs neerkomt op 100 cm tot 120 cm breed. De verhouding 2:1 is laag, dus je kunt het dichter bij het meubel hangen dan normaal, ongeveer anderhalve hand boven de bovenkant. Kleiner dan 80 cm breed en het bestek aan beide kanten wordt eerder vlekken dan een gedekte tafel.

    Werkt het ook ergens anders dan in een eetkamer of keuken?

    Ja, zolang de muur breed is. Boven een sofa leest het als een droge grap in plaats van een menukaart, en in een lange hal vult het de ruimte die normaal een landschap inneemt. Het heeft wel een warme muurkleur of warm licht nodig om te voorkomen dat de crème grauw wordt, dus een noordgerichte hal met witte muren is de plek om te vermijden.
