    Februari is de maand waarin een woonkamer inzakt: het licht is vlak en grijs, de bank oogt moe en de muur doet weinig. Hang dit canvas van een meter boven de bank en het rood doet wat de radiator niet kan. Het verspreidt warmte over een lichte linnen zitting en laat een strakke witte muur een bewuste keuze lijken. Kobaltblauwe vlakken vangen het weinige daglicht. Laat de rest van de muur leeg. Eén kussen in hetzelfde blauw is genoeg; met twee krijg je strijd. In juni leest datzelfde rood als zon door het raam in plaats van vuur, dus het verdient zijn plek in beide seizoenen. Kalkachtig stucwerk, eiken vloerplanken en een offwhite kleed geven het ruimte om te spreken. Op canvas loopt het rood tot aan de randen, zonder rand die het beeld onderbreekt.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    Overheerst het rood een kleine woonkamer?

    Niet als rood de enige sterke kleur in de kamer is. De vorm in gebroken wit neemt meer dan een derde van het oppervlak in, waardoor het werk lichter oogt dan een effen rode canvas. Houd de muren wit of lichtgrijs, de bank neutraal en laat het kunstwerk de enige opvallende kleur zijn. Hang het in een kleine ruimte liever in een middelgroot formaat op dan te kiezen voor de breedste optie.

    Welke kleuren kan ik erbij gebruiken?

    Pak het kobaltblauw op in plaats van het rood. Eén navy- of kobaltkleurig kussen of plaid verbindt de kamer met de vierkanten zonder de warmte te verdubbelen. Zwarte metalen poten van een bijzettafel of lampvoet herhalen de zwarte vierkanten subtiel. Vermijd roze, terracotta of burgundy textiel, want dat komt te dicht bij het rood en maakt de hele wand wat modderig.

    Hoe breed moet het boven mijn bank zijn?

    Richt op twee derde tot drie kwart van de breedte van de bank. Bij een standaard driezitsbank is dat ongeveer 100 tot 120cm breed. Het brede formaat is gemaakt om uit te strekken, dus te smal ophangen laat rood muurvlak ongemakkelijk aan beide kanten zien. Boven een tweepersoonsbed stem je de breedte af op die van het matras en hangt de onderrand ongeveer 20cm boven het hoofdeinde.
