How do I frame an art print?
Good news—you don’t have to!
All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:
- Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
- We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
- Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
- Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.
Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.
What makes Fab frames so good?
Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

How do I hang art prints?
It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.
Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:
- Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.
- Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.
- For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.
Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.
Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall
Does the print include the Leo Gestel name and title lettering at the bottom?
Yes. The lettering reading 'Leo Gestel' and 'Rearing Horse (ca. 1891–1941)' sits below the drawing as part of the composition. If you want only the horse with no text, this isn't the version for you — the lettering is integral to the layout.
Is the background a true white or more of a warm off-white?
It's a warm off-white with a paper-like softness, not a bright pure white. That makes it easier to live with on plaster or chalky painted walls, and stops the black ink from feeling too harsh in a calm room.
Will the loose brushwork look messy on a larger size?
No — the brushwork is confident rather than scribbled, and the empty space around the horse scales up well. At medium and large sizes the ink lines feel intentional and graphic, not rough, especially viewed from a step or two back.
