    After the low winter light shifts, the hallway suddenly has a pulse. The cat is built from thousands of black pen loops on off-white, so it reads as one solid shape from the doorway and breaks into wild scribbles once you step closer. Hung on a plain wall, it gives a quiet room a bit of movement and humour without adding colour. Best at eye level in a hallway, above a console, or on a study wall where you pass it often. Pair it with black metal, pale wood, white ceramics and grey wool. Keep busy patterned wallpaper and other heavy black-and-white graphics away from it - the scribble needs empty wall to do its job.     How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

    All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

    Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

    What makes Fab frames so good?

    How do I hang art prints?

    It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

    Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

    Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

    Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

    Does it still read as a cat from across the room?
    Yes. The overlapping loops build up into a solid dark shape, so from two or three metres away you see the cat's posture, ears and upturned head straight away. Move closer and it breaks back into single pen lines. That shift is the point, so give yourself both a near view and a longer one.

    Will the loose scribbles make a small hallway feel cluttered?
    Not if you keep the wall around it clear. Most of the picture is empty off-white, so it reads as one shape rather than pattern. Skip hooks, mirrors or other frames within about 30cm of it, and choose a medium size rather than a large one in a narrow space.

    Does it work in a room with no other black in it?
    It can, but it will look sharper if something else in the room picks up the black. A dark lamp base, black frames elsewhere, a charcoal cushion or dark metal legs is enough. Without any of that, the piece can feel a bit isolated on a very soft, pale scheme.
