About This Art

In the 1970s, this would have felt radical. It still does. A hillside village climbs up the wall in warm terracotta, sand and dusty teal, with pink steps drawing the eye from floor to ceiling.

Put it up and the room feels like late afternoon on holiday. The colours are warm but not loud, so the room still feels calm — just a bit more sunlit than before.

It works best on a tall, quiet wall. Hallways, the run beside a staircase, a bedroom corner, or above a low sideboard in a living room. The vertical pull does a lot of the work, so don't crowd it.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the warm terracotta clash with cool grey walls?

It can sit awkwardly on a cool blue-grey wall — the terracotta steps end up fighting the wall rather than lifting it. It's much happier on cream, off-white, warm plaster or pale sand. If your walls are cool, hang it where there's plenty of warm timber or linen nearby to bridge the temperature.

Is this tall enough for a staircase wall?

Yes — the vertical pull from the pink steps and palms is the whole point. It works well on staircase walls, narrow hallway runs and bedroom corners where the eye needs to travel up. Go for the large or statement tier so the composition has room to breathe.

Does the piece show a specific place like Santorini or Morocco?

No specific town. It's a composite Mediterranean hillside village — white-washed cubic houses, terracotta steps, palms and a soft sea — so it reads broadly as villa or coastal Mediterranean rather than one named location. That makes it easier to live with long-term.
