What is ink line art?

Ink line art is artwork built primarily from drawn lines rather than blended shading. Traditionally it involves going over a rough sketch with pen and pigment ink to create a crisp, final line, and the same approach is used today in botanical studies, figures, landscapes and abstract mark-making. The look is graphic and confident, with the paper or background left open to do much of the work.

What is the art style called that uses only lines?

Most people simply call it line art or line drawing, and the term covers everything from single continuous contour drawings to dense hatched and cross-hatched ink work. Fine-line styles emphasize delicate, even strokes, while heavier inking uses varied line weight to suggest volume and depth. Because color is minimal or absent, these pieces read as calm and architectural on a wall.

Should I choose an art print or a canvas for line art?

Both work, so let the finish decide. A framed or unframed art print keeps the flat, drawn-on-paper character that suits fine ink lines, while a canvas gives a softer, more textured surface and a less formal presence. A framed canvas arrives as one finished piece with no separate frame and no assembly. Shipping is free and returns are open for 99 days if the format doesn't suit the room.
