How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Where does a tall piece like this work best?

Its 1:2 shape suits walls that are narrow but high: a hallway, a stair landing, the strip between two windows or beside a tall bookcase. Hang it so the octopus head sits near eye level and the crimson tentacles run down towards the floor. On a wide sofa wall it can look lost unless paired with a second tall piece.

What wall colours suit it?

Slate or charcoal grey makes the gold and rust glow and echoes the grey blocks in the painting. Plaster pink or warm off-white keeps things lighter and lets the blush areas blend into the wall. Avoid bright white in a cold north-facing room, where the gold can look flat; warm light suits it far better.

Is the octopus easy to read, or is it mostly abstract?

The octopus is clear: its head and closed eye sit at the top, and two red tentacles with white suckers curl down the right side and across the base. The middle dissolves into loose white and pink brushstrokes over flat colour blocks, so it reads as an animal from across the room and as abstract painting up close.
