Zacht ochtendlicht in een smalle gang maakt veel beelden vlak. Zwart op crème doet het tegenovergestelde: de lijnen blijven scherp als het licht afneemt. Tegen de late middag leest de tekening als inkt direct op de muur. Hang deze canvas aan het einde van de gang waar het raamlicht erlangs strijkt; de crèmekleurige achtergrond pakt de laatste warmte van de dag op. Met witte pleister achterwand, een zwart stalen leuning of een donker geschilderde deur ernaast krijgt de geometrie tegenspel. Laat die muur verder leeg.
In een werkkamer hang je hem naast het bureau in plaats van achter het scherm, zodat de hoge vorm het lamplicht ’s avonds vangt en het zwart sterk blijft wanneer het daglicht weg is. De canvas is strak opgespannen op een houten frame, klaar om op te hangen, zonder glas dat storend licht uit de gang weerkaatst.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.
Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?
Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.
You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.
How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.
Blijven de fijne lijnen vanaf onderaan de trap nog leesbaar?
Op groot formaat wel. De zware zwarte balken en de cirkel zijn ook vanaf de onderste trede goed te zien, en de dunste getrokken lijnen komen in beeld als je omhoog loopt. Dat verschil over de lengte van een trapwand is juist deel van het plezier. Onder mediumformaat vervagen de fijne details op afstand naar grijs, dus kies op een lange trapwand liever groter dan kleiner.
Is de achtergrond puur wit of crème?
Crème, dicht bij de tint van verouderd papier. Tegen een stralend witte muur oogt de ondergrond als een warm vlak, wat de meeste mensen prettig vinden omdat de muur daardoor minder klinisch voelt. Tegen een gebroken witte of warme witte muur verdwijnt de ondergrond bijna helemaal en zie je vooral de zwarte lijn. Beide werken, en geen van beide heeft een lijst nodig om af te voelen.
Werkt de hoge vorm ook naast een deur in plaats van op een open muur?
Daar hoort hij juist. Een 1:2-formaat vult de strook tussen een deur en een hoek waar niets anders past, en de staande verhouding sluit aan bij de deur zelf. Hang hem zo dat het midden op ooghoogte zit, en houd de klink en eventuele schakelaars zwart zodat het beslag en de inkt op elkaar aansluiten. Laat de andere kant van de deur leeg.
