How do I frame an art print?
Good news—you don’t have to!
All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:
- Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
- We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
- Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
- Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.
Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?
It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.
Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:
- Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.
- Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.
- For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.
Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.
Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall
How dark does this print read on a pale wall?
The cream paper ground keeps the overall feel warm rather than heavy, but the magpies themselves are deep black with bright white panels, so it reads as a strong, high-contrast piece on a pale wall. On chalky off-white, sage or warm clay walls it sits more comfortably than on cool brilliant white.
Will the iridescent blue and green in the wings actually show?
Yes. The wing feathers carry small flashes of blue, green and a touch of warm red that come through clearly in the print. They are subtle from across the room and reveal themselves close up, which is part of the appeal of an Audubon plate. Lamplight tends to bring them out more than overhead lighting.
Does it work on its own or does it need other prints around it?
It holds a wall on its own as a tall portrait piece, especially above a desk, console or narrow chest. It also anchors a small group of two or three other natural-history plates very well — vintage botanicals, antique maps or other bird studies on cream grounds are the easiest companions.
