Om detta konstverk

Most people size this one down because it is an octopus and they worry it will shout. Go the other way. At 60cm square the tentacles reach past the edges of a basin or a small console and the whole wall tightens up around one navy shape. Smaller than 40cm, it turns into a bathroom novelty. The cream ground does the resting, so even at a metre wide it leaves a white-tiled bathroom or a pale kitchen feeling open rather than crowded. Hang it on the wall facing the door, so the curls are the first thing you meet. Keep the surfaces around it plain. Matt white tile, a timber shelf, one brass tap. Nothing else navy within arm's reach. On canvas the flat navy reads like paint and goes straight on the wall with no glass in a steamy room.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the navy look too heavy in a small bathroom?

Less than you would think. Half the picture is cream, so the wall still reads light from the doorway. The navy only feels heavy if the walls around it are also dark or if the room has no daylight at all. In a white-tiled bathroom with one window it looks crisp rather than gloomy. Keep the towels pale or striped and the balance holds.

Is it too grown-up for a child's bedroom?

It works in both directions. Young children read it as a friendly sea creature with curly arms, and older ones see a graphic poster rather than nursery decor. That is the point of choosing it over a cartoon print, it stays on the wall through several redecorations. Pair it with striped bedding and a pine bed and it looks right at five and at fifteen.

Can I hang it in a room with no other blue?

Yes, and it is often better that way. One dense navy shape on a cream or white wall gives the room a single focal point without asking for matching cushions. If you want to tie it in, a navy towel or one striped rug is enough. Add more blue than that and the octopus stops being the thing you notice first.
