How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the red lantern as warm as it looks, or is the overall feel cool?

The overall feel is calm and slightly cool — the dominant colours are soft cream, warm off-white and a pale sky blue. The red lantern and small red pagoda are warm accents that draw the eye, but they sit against snow and sky, so the piece reads quiet rather than hot. It works well in rooms that already lean neutral.

Will the small figures and fine linework still read at a normal viewing distance?

Yes. The figures with umbrellas, the pagoda and the tree branches are designed in classic Japanese woodblock style with clear silhouettes, so they hold up from a couple of metres away. Up close you'll see the hand-pulled line quality and the soft gradient in the sky, which is part of the charm of the original print.

Does it work in a room that isn't styled Japanese or Japandi?

It does. The soft neutrals and single warm accent sit comfortably in Scandinavian, organic modern and gently traditional rooms too. Keep the wall around it calm — pale paint or plaster, pale wood furniture, linen or bouclé upholstery — and it slots in without needing the rest of the room to feel themed.
