Om detta konstverk

Give it the wall your kitchen table sits against. A table collects clutter, toast crumbs and the Saturday papers, and this much black above it turns the mess into a scene rather than a chore. Dense black holds its own against a white tiled splashback or a wall painted off-white. Its cream matches most crockery, so the shelf below can stay as it is. Hang it low. The bottom edge should sit about a hand above the back of a chair, close enough that you read the scratched texture while you eat. One small thing on the table beneath, a dark jug or a bowl of fruit, finishes it. Skip the spotlights. Morning window light does more for the cream than any bulb. On canvas the scratched texture gains a little depth, and there is no glass to catch the kitchen window.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will this much black feel heavy in a small kitchen?

Less than you would expect. Around half the picture is warm cream, so the black reads as pattern rather than a dark block. In a small kitchen keep it to a medium size and hang it on a white or off-white wall, where the cream almost disappears into the paint and only the black shapes stay. Avoid a dark wall behind it, which closes the room in.

What size works above a kitchen table?

Aim for roughly half to two thirds the width of the table. For a standard four-seat table that is a medium size, around 50 to 60cm square. Hang it so the bottom edge sits a hand above the chair backs. Go larger only if the table sits against a long wall with nothing else on it, otherwise the black starts to dominate the meal.

Will it clash with patterned tiles behind it?

Yes, usually. The chequerboard in the picture is already a pattern, and a second pattern behind it makes the wall hard to read. Hang it on a plain painted section of wall instead, even if that means moving it a metre from the splashback. Plain white metro tiles are the exception, since their grid lines up with the squares rather than fighting them.
