How do I frame an art print?
Good news—you don’t have to!
All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:
- Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
- We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
- Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
- Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.
Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.
What makes Fab frames so good?

How do I hang art prints?
It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.
Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:
- Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.
- Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.
- For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.
Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.
Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall
Will the dark background feel heavy in a small room?
Less than you'd think. The cream chrysanthemums and gold leaves break up the near-black ground, so it reads as detailed rather than flat or oppressive. In a small room, hang it where a warm lamp can fall across it in the evening — the gold work catches the light and stops the wall feeling closed in.
How readable is the exhibition text from across a room?
At a normal viewing distance of one and a half to two and a half metres, 'William Morris', 'Cotton Prints Exhibition' and 'South Kensington' all read clearly. The smaller dates and opening hours sit more as texture than information — fine if you're standing in front of it, decorative from further back.
Does this work with bright white walls or does it need a dark wall?
Both work, just differently. On a deep green, navy or warm off-white panelled wall, the print sinks in and feels like part of the room. On a bright white wall it reads as a sharper, more graphic poster and stands further forward. Pick by the mood you want, not the rule.
