'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of black. This is a cat built from hundreds of loose pen scribbles, and it brings all the energy of a drawing made in one sitting. Put it up and a flat white wall suddenly has a focal point — the eye follows the tangle, finds the ears, the eyes, the curled tail, then goes round again. It works at eye level in a hallway, above a desk, or on a narrow wall between windows. Keep the room around it simple: pale wood, black metal, grey or white paint, one plain cushion. Don't crowd it with busy pattern or heavy florals — the scribble needs white space to read properly. On fine-art paper the fine line work stays crisp and inky.

How do I frame an art print?
Good news—you don’t have to!
All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:
- Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
- We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
- Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
- Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.
Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.
What makes Fab frames so good?

How do I hang art prints?
It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.
Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:
- Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.
- Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.
- For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.
Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.
Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall
Will the fine scribbled lines still look sharp at a larger size?
Yes. The lines get thicker and more open as the size goes up, so the tangle reads more clearly from across a room. If you want the drawing to feel dense and inky, stay in the medium range and hang it where people pass within a couple of metres.
Does it work in a room with colour on the walls?
It does, as long as the wall is fairly flat and mid to light in tone — soft grey, pale green or muted blue all work. Very dark walls swallow the black lines and lose the drawing, and strong warm shades like terracotta can make the white ground look stark.
Which breed is this, and will it suit a different cat?
The big ears, long muzzle and slim frame read as an oriental shorthair, so it will feel like a portrait if you own that breed or a siamese. For a rounder, fluffier cat it works as a general cat drawing rather than a likeness, and most people read it simply as a cat.
