Looks as good in person as it did online!!

Received my print quickly and it looks as good in person as it did online!! Good quality canvas - you will need to attach your own hardware to the back for hanging. Got it because it actually looks like one of my cats :) Will definitely purchase other things from Fab!

Who was Louis Wain, and why are his cat illustrations still popular wall art?

Louis Wain (1860-1939) was a British illustrator who became famous in the late Victorian and Edwardian era for drawing cats as wide-eyed, upright characters in clothing, taking tea, golfing and generally mimicking human society. His work helped shift public opinion of cats from pests to beloved companions, and it reached millions through magazines, postcards and annuals. The playful humour, bold colour and vintage charm still read well on modern walls, and a renewed spotlight since the 2021 film biography has kept interest high with cat lovers decorating kitchens, hallways and children's rooms.

What is the story behind Steinlen's Le Chat Noir poster?

Théophile Alexandre Steinlen designed the famous black cat poster in 1896 to advertise the touring shadow-theatre troupe of Le Chat Noir, the Montmartre cabaret opened in 1881 by impresario Rodolphe Salis and often called the first modern cabaret. Steinlen, a Swiss-born Montmartre resident who adored the neighbourhood's cats, gave the animal glowing eyes, a curling tail and a halo of text reading Montjoie Montmartre, a wink at Alphonse Mucha's decorative style. The colour lithograph became a Belle Epoque emblem, and its bold black, red and amber graphic still shapes how cat art looks on walls today.
