Posters

4.8

Posters are the quickest way to fill a bare wall without overthinking it. Start with what you're drawn to, a colour you already live with, a photograph, a piece of type, a print that makes you look twice, then worry about where it goes. Every design comes unframed, or as framed posters that arrive ready to hang with nothing for you to put together. Browse the full range below.

What's the difference between a poster and an art print?

A traditional poster is typically mass-printed on thin paper with limited colour accuracy. Our posters are museum-grade giclée prints on thick matte paper, which means richer detail, truer colours, and a finish that genuinely looks like gallery-quality art. If you've been burned by flimsy posters that curl at the edges or fade within months, this is the upgrade you didn't know you needed. You can buy posters online that actually feel worth framing and hanging for years.

What size poster should I get for my living room?

For the wall above a standard UK sofa (around 180-200cm wide), a single 70x100cm poster creates a confident focal point without looking lost. If you have a narrower space, like above an armchair or side table, 50x70cm works better. We'd always recommend going bigger than your instinct tells you to. A poster that's too small for the wall it's on just looks like an afterthought, while a large poster for your wall makes the whole room feel more intentional.

Should I buy my poster framed or unframed?

Framed, every time. We know that sounds self-serving, but hear us out: the biggest reason wall art looks cheap is poor framing. Warped wood, prints that bubble or shift, frames that arrive separately and never quite fit right. Our framed posters arrive ready to hang with the print already properly fitted into a solid FSC-certified wood frame with UV-protective acrylic glaze, so there's no DIY assembly and no risk of it looking wonky on the wall. Thousands of our customers say the framing quality is what surprised them most.

How do I choose posters that work together on the same wall?

The simplest approach that always works: pick two or three posters that share a colour palette but vary in subject. For example, a botanical illustration, an abstract piece, and a photography print that all lean into muted greens and creams. Keep the frames the same colour (we'd go natural oak for warm-toned rooms, black for something more modern) and stick to one size for a clean grid, or mix 50x70cm with 30x40cm for a more relaxed gallery wall. Decorative posters look best when they feel curated, not random.

Are posters a good option for wall art, or do they look cheap?

Cheap posters look cheap. Quality posters look fantastic. The difference is entirely in the materials. Our art posters are printed with inks rated to last hundreds of years without fading, on thick matte paper that has zero glare and real depth of colour. Framed in solid wood, they're genuinely indistinguishable from gallery prints costing several times more. If you've got a blank wall that feels unfinished and you want affordable art posters that actually elevate a room, this is the most effective way to do it without overspending.
