How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the deep red going to overpower a small dining room?

It will lead the room, which is the point. In a small dining space, keep nearby walls calm — cream, plaster, off-white — and let the print be the main colour. Pair with warm timber rather than glossy white furniture. If your scheme is already pale and quiet, this works as a single jolt. If everything is already loud, it'll fight.

Does the French handwritten text read clearly at smaller sizes?

The lettering — Nice, Travail et Joie, H. Matisse — is part of the artwork and sits across the bottom third. At small sizes it reads more as a graphic flourish than text you'd pause to read. For the full effect of the signature and looseness of the writing, go medium or large.

Will it work in a room that isn't already warm-toned?

It can, but it'll change the room rather than blend in. Cool grey or crisp white schemes will feel the contrast strongly. If you want to soften that, bring in one or two warm accents nearby — a timber frame, a stoneware lamp, a linen cushion — so the print isn't the only warm thing in the room.
