What people say about Abstract Art Prints

Vibrant colours, crisp detail and good print quality stand out, with framed pieces brightening bedrooms, hallways and other spaces.

I Googled the Colors I Wanted and Found my Perfect Print

I just moved from a three-bedroom, two story house to a two bedroom ground floor apartment. This is the start of my new life and I want new things in my new place. I stumbled across Fab by Googling, "Print, gold, teal, brown" and they popped up. I found the perfect picture in the perfect orientation with the perfect frame. My anal-retentive brother came over and hung it for me--Perfectly level! It looks perfect. I'm already eyeballing another print for my bedroom that has yet to be decorated. I'll definitely buy from them again.

Klimt Inspired Print

The colors are vibrant and the quality of the print is excellent. The paper it is printed on is very good quality, too. Will definitely buy more prints from you, I've very impressed with overall.

I was very happy with the quality of the paper the prints were on

I was very happy with the quality of the paper the prints were on. Colors were nice & bright. The only aspect that I was not happy with, was that prints did not have an edge around them. I bought a 11x14 cause mat's opening was that size & I basically had to tape it to the mat. I've never encountered this. You should do better in this area.

Picking an abstract print: FAQs

Answers on choosing colour, judging scale and working out which abstract style suits your space

What's the difference between colour field prints and gestural abstract expressionist prints?

Both styles grew out of American abstract expressionism between the 1940s and 1960s, but they feel very different on a wall. Colour field prints, in the lineage of Rothko, Newman and Frankenthaler, use large, mostly flat expanses of colour with soft edges and almost no visible brushwork, so they read calm, atmospheric and contemplative. Gestural abstract expressionist prints, following Pollock, de Kooning and Kline, record the physical act of painting through sweeping strokes, drips and splatters, so they carry energy and movement. Choose colour field for restful bedrooms, gestural work when you want a bold focal point. Browse expressionism-rooted work side by side in our expressionist art prints to compare both moods.

What size abstract print should I hang above a sofa or bed?

Aim for an abstract print, or a grouping, that spans about two thirds to three quarters of the furniture width below it. A 210 cm sofa suits roughly 140 to 155 cm of art, so one wide horizontal piece in that range, or two to three panels totalling that width, looks intentional. Over a double bed target about 100 to 115 cm, and 120 to 145 cm over a king. Hang the bottom edge 15 to 20 cm above the sofa back or headboard, and centre the piece on the furniture rather than the wall. When torn between two sizes, size up. Which abstract art print colours are trending in 2026?

Warm earth tones lead abstract art print trends in 2026: terracotta, clay, ochre, rust, caramel and warm taupe, usually layered with cream and warm white. Close behind are nature greens like sage, olive and forest, softened mineral blues, and pale cloud or sky palettes that keep quiet rooms feeling airy. Softened primaries, buttery yellow and muted cherry work well as one confident accent, while high-contrast black and white stays a reliable neutral choice. Pick warm tones for cosy living rooms and cooler washes for bedrooms and offices. You can explore these palettes across our abstract and geometric prints.

Which abstract art prints work best in a living room?

For a living room, we'd steer you towards large abstract art prints in the 70x100cm range, hung above the sofa so the centre of the print sits roughly at eye level. If your room has neutral furniture, a colourful abstract print with warm tones (ochre, burnt orange, terracotta) will anchor the space without you needing to redecorate around it. If your room already has a lot going on, a minimalist abstract print in two or three tones will calm things down and give the eye somewhere to rest. Our framed prints arrive ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you can have it on the wall in minutes, not weekends.

Is abstract art a good choice for bedrooms?

Absolutely, and honestly we think bedrooms are where abstract prints really shine because you're not trying to match them to a "theme" the way you might in a kitchen or hallway. Go for softer palettes: muted blues, dusty pinks, sage greens, or warm neutrals. A pair of smaller abstract prints (around 30x40cm each) either side of a bed works beautifully in place of a single large piece, and gives a more considered, designed feel. Avoid anything too high-contrast or neon if this is a space where you want to wind down.

How do I choose the right colours in an abstract print for my space?

A good rule of thumb is the three-colour rule: pick an abstract print that shares at least one colour already in your room (a cushion, a rug, even a book spine on a shelf) and introduces no more than two new ones. This stops the print from feeling like it landed from outer space. If you're starting from scratch in a freshly decorated room with white or grey walls, you genuinely can't go wrong with a colourful abstract art print because it becomes the anchor that everything else can reference later.

Do your abstract prints come properly framed and ready to hang?

Yes, and this is worth emphasising because badly framed prints are the number one disappointment in wall art. Every framed abstract art print we sell ships with the print already fitted inside a solid wood frame (FSC-certified, no MDF) with UV-protective acrylic glazing to prevent fading and glare. It arrives in one box with hanging fixtures attached, so there's no assembly, no warping, no bubbling. Our customers regularly tell us the framing quality is even better than expected, and that prints look sharper in person than on screen.

What are the main styles of abstract art, and which should I pick?

Abstract art broadly falls into four camps: geometric (clean shapes, structured compositions), expressionist (loose, gestural, painterly marks), minimalist (pared-back, lots of negative space), and colour field (large blocks or washes of colour). If your room feels busy or cluttered, minimalist abstract prints will give it breathing room. If you have a big blank wall above a sofa or bed that needs energy, a gestural or colour field piece in the 70x100cm range will do the heavy lifting. Geometric abstracts are our pick for hallways and home offices where you want something striking but not distracting.
