What size canvas prints work best for a living room?
For the wall above a standard sofa (roughly 180-200cm wide), we'd go with a single large canvas print in 100x70cm or bigger. It should fill about two-thirds of the sofa's width to feel intentional rather than lost. Our canvas prints go up to an XL 150x100cm, which is a genuinely dramatic size for a living room focal wall. If your space is smaller, say above an armchair or console table, a 50x70cm canvas hits the sweet spot without overwhelming the area.
Does canvas art look better framed or unframed?
Unframed canvas gives you that clean, gallery-minimal look where the art wraps around the edges and floats on the wall. It works brilliantly in modern, pared-back spaces. But if you want a more polished, finished feel, especially in a living room or dining room, a framed canvas adds a real sense of weight and intentionality. We use mirrored edge wrapping on all our canvas prints so no part of the image gets cropped, meaning either option looks complete. Our honest take: if you're hanging a single statement piece, framed canvas elevates it noticeably.
How do I hang canvas art without damaging my walls?
Our canvas prints are hand-stretched over a solid wood frame, so they're rigid and lightweight enough for adhesive picture-hanging strips if you're renting or don't want nail holes. For anything 70x100cm or larger, we'd recommend a single nail or screw into a wall plug for peace of mind. A quick rule: hang the centre of the canvas at roughly 145cm from the floor (eye level), or about 15-20cm above furniture if it's going over a sofa or sideboard. No complicated rail systems needed.
How long will a canvas print last before it fades?
Our canvas prints use museum-grade giclée printing with inks rated to last well over a century, even in direct sunlight. The poly-cotton canvas itself is durable and won't sag or warp over time because it's hand-stretched over a solid FSC-certified wood frame rather than cheap softwood. So if you're investing in canvas wall art for a room you've just finished decorating, you won't be replacing it in a few years. It genuinely lasts.
Which is better for wall art: canvas prints or framed art prints?
They solve different problems. Canvas prints have a textured, contemporary feel that works especially well in casual living spaces, bedrooms, and anywhere you want art without the formality of glass. Framed art prints on thick matte paper give you sharper detail and a more traditional, gallery-like finish behind UV-protective acrylic glaze. If you're filling a large blank wall in a modern open-plan space, we'd lean canvas. For a hallway, study, or gallery wall arrangement, framed prints tend to look more cohesive. Both are made to order using sustainable materials, so it really comes down to the look and feel you want for the room.
