How do film art prints look different from the cheap movie posters I had in university?

Which size works best for a single film print above a sofa or bed?

For a standard UK three-seater sofa (roughly 200cm wide), we'd go with a 50x70cm or 70x100cm print. The 70x100cm is our statement size and it fills the wall properly without looking lost. If you're hanging above a bed, match the print width to roughly two-thirds of your headboard width. A lone 30x40cm film poster above a sofa will look like an afterthought, so go bigger than you think you need.

Can I mix different film art prints together in a gallery wall?

The key is picking a thread that ties the prints together: a consistent colour palette, the same era of cinema, or a single director's filmography.
