Gustav Klimt Wildflower Art Prints

4.8

Klimt spent his summers by the lake and painted what grew there: poppy fields, cottage gardens, orchards and meadows packed edge to edge with colour. These are the warmest, least formal works he made, and they lift a bedroom wall or a dim hallway without shouting. If you want more of that palette, the Gustav Klimt botanical art prints sit close by, while the Gustav Klimt portrait art prints bring the gold.

I am honestly blown away by the frame quality (click thru all options and look at the gold one not featured!)and the rich colors of the artwork/print. And delivery no charge from UK in 3-4 days (my neighbor brought it in as I was traveling. Packaging was terrific. And i buy from many sources and items frequently arrive damaged. NOT SO with this item and am going to order more ASAP for my evolving gallery wall.

Did Gustav Klimt make prints?

Klimt worked mainly as a painter and draughtsman, and the wildflower and garden images sold today are reproductions of his paintings rather than prints he produced himself. That is exactly what a decorative art print is: a modern printed version of a well-known painting, made for the wall rather than for the collector market. It lets you live with the colour and pattern of a Klimt meadow at a price that suits a normal home.

What are Klimt's wildflower and flower garden paintings?

During his summers in the Austrian countryside Klimt painted dense flower meadows, cottage gardens and lakeside landscapes, with the best-known being Flower Garden of 1907. Instead of a horizon he filled the square canvas edge to edge with poppies, daisies and tangled greenery, so the blooms read almost like a patterned tapestry. That flat, decorative treatment is why these images translate so well into wall art.

How do you style a Klimt wildflower print in a room?

Because these images are busy and full of colour, give them a calm background: a plain white, warm cream or soft sage wall lets the flowers do the talking. A single large piece works beautifully above a sofa, bed or dining sideboard, while two smaller garden scenes can be hung side by side in a hallway. Pick out one green or rose tone from the print for cushions or a vase to tie the room together.

Should I choose a framed or unframed Klimt print?

Klimt reproductions are commonly offered both framed ready to hang and unframed, so it comes down to how much work you want to do. Framed is the simplest route, arriving finished with no assembly needed, and a slim black or warm wood frame suits these floral scenes without competing with them. Unframed suits anyone with an existing frame or a specific mount in mind. Shipping is free and you have 99 days to decide.
