What makes a seascape print "modern" rather than traditional?

Modern seascapes trade the detailed ships, crashing surf and stormy skies of classic marine painting for simplified form. Expect clean horizon lines, broad bands of colour, soft gradients and abstracted water or sky, often with a lot of open space. The mood is quieter and more graphic, which is why contemporary abstract seascapes sit comfortably alongside minimalist and coastal interiors rather than period rooms.

Are modern seascapes a good choice for a bedroom or bathroom?

Yes, they're among the easiest subjects for restful rooms. Horizontal compositions and cool coastal palettes read as calm, so a wide seascape above a headboard tends to settle a bedroom rather than energise it. In bathrooms, keep prints away from direct shower spray and steam. For both rooms, softer, hazier images work better than high-contrast graphic ones if relaxation is the goal.
