I Googled the Colors I Wanted and Found my Perfect Print

I just moved from a three-bedroom, two story house to a two bedroom ground floor apartment. This is the start of my new life and I want new things in my new place. I stumbled across Fab by Googling, "Print, gold, teal, brown" and they popped up. I found the perfect picture in the perfect orientation with the perfect frame. My anal-retentive brother came over and hung it for me--Perfectly level! It looks perfect. I'm already eyeballing another print for my bedroom that has yet to be decorated. I'll definitely buy from them again.

Which landscape print suits your wall

Answers on scale, framing choices, colour matching and where nature scenes tend to sit best

How do I choose between mountain, forest, coastal and countryside landscape prints for a room?

Choose by the mood and palette you want, then the subject. Mountain scenes bring drama, height and grounding weight, so they suit living rooms, hallways and above a fireplace. Forest views feel green and restorative for offices, bedrooms and reading corners, though very dark, dense woods can shrink a small space. Coastal scenes with low horizons and blue-grey tones read airy and calming, and countryside views bring warm, relaxed golds and greens to dining and family areas. Match one or two of the room's largest colours rather than every accent. You may also like our Coastal Landscape Art Prints.

Do landscape prints look better in horizontal, vertical or panoramic format?

None is universally better; the wall and the furniture beneath it decide. Horizontal formats suit wide, open walls above sofas, beds, sideboards and dining tables, spanning roughly two thirds to three quarters of the furniture width so the scene feels grounded. Vertical formats flatter narrow walls, hallways, stairwells and alcoves, and they emphasise tall subjects like waterfalls, gorges or forest trunks while adding perceived ceiling height. Panoramic is simply an extra wide horizontal, ideal over long corner sofas or super king beds where a standard shape looks undersized. Measure first, then choose the shape.

What colours do green and blue nature landscape prints work best with in a room?

Green and blue nature landscape prints look best against warm, nature-adjacent neutrals: warm white, chalk, oat, sand, mushroom taupe and greige, all of which are dominating 2026 palettes as cool greys fade out. For contrast, add a grounding accent such as terracotta, clay, ochre or rust, which sits opposite cool tones and keeps a room from feeling flat. Natural wood, rattan, linen and woven textures reinforce the outdoor mood, while brass or gold hardware warms misty blues. Deep forest or navy walls suit moody prints; frame colour can echo the wood tones already in the room. For a related option, explore our Nature Art Prints.

What is the Hudson River School, and why do its landscape scenes still suit American homes?

The Hudson River School was America's first homegrown art movement, a loose circle of landscape painters working roughly between 1825 and 1870. Founded in spirit by Thomas Cole and continued by artists such as Asher Durand, Frederic Church and Albert Bierstadt, it grew out of Romanticism and treated the Catskills, New England and later western scenery as a source of national pride and spiritual renewal. That style still fits US homes because glowing skies, warm earth tones and deep vistas bring calm and a feeling of open space to living rooms, snugs and hallways. What size landscape print should I get for my living room wall?

For the wall above a standard sofa (roughly 180-200cm wide), we'd go for a 70x100cm landscape art print every time. It fills the space without looking cramped, and the horizontal orientation mirrors the line of the furniture below. If you're working with a narrower wall or an armchair nook, drop down to 50x70cm. Our framed prints arrive ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you can get it up in minutes rather than spending a weekend figuring out fittings.

Are nature landscape prints a good choice for bedrooms?

Yes, and honestly they're one of the best things you can put in a bedroom. Soft, muted landscapes like misty forests, rolling countryside, or calm coastal scenes lower the visual energy of a room in a way that bold abstract art just can't. We'd recommend choosing a print with a cool or neutral palette (think greens, soft blues, muted earth tones) and hanging it above the headboard at around 50x70cm or larger. The matte paper we use has zero glare, so it won't bounce light from a bedside lamp back at you.

How do I choose between a landscape photography print and a painted landscape print?

It depends on the room's personality. Photography prints suit modern, minimal, or Scandi-leaning spaces because they bring texture and depth without adding extra colour noise. Painted or illustrated landscape prints work better in rooms that already have warmth and character, like a period living room or a cosy study. If your walls are white and your furniture is clean-lined, start with photography. If you've got warmer tones, patterned textiles, or vintage furniture, a painterly landscape will feel more at home.

Will my landscape print fade if it's on a sunlit wall?

Not with ours, no. Our framed nature landscape art prints use museum-grade giclée inks rated to last hundreds of years, paired with UV-protective acrylic glazing that blocks the light wavelengths responsible for fading. So that south-facing living room wall you've been nervous about? Go ahead and use it. The acrylic glazing also means no glare, which is a genuine bonus for sun-drenched rooms where glass would just reflect the window back at you.

What are the main types of landscape wall art?

You'll generally see three broad categories. Representational landscapes aim to capture a real place faithfully, from mountain panoramas to countryside scenes. Impressionistic or painterly landscapes focus more on mood, light, and colour than precise detail. And abstract landscapes strip a scene down to shapes, horizon lines, and colour fields. Most people decorating a home gravitate toward the first two because they're immediately readable and calming. If you're filling a blank wall and want something that grounds the room, a representational forest or mountain landscape print in a larger format (50x70cm or above) is a reliably strong choice.
