I had no idea that Gustav Klimt painted cats before I visited your site

I had no idea that Gustav Klimt painted cats before I visited your site. The picture is lovely and colourful and the frame goes perfectly with it. It’s very quirky and it’s perfect in the room I put it in. Very satisfied, thank you..

Are whimsical art prints only for nurseries and kids' rooms?

Absolutely not, and we'd argue that's the biggest misconception in the playful wall art world. A whimsical illustration print in a living room or bedroom adds personality that "serious" art just can't match. Try a large 50x70cm or 70x100cm framed print above a sofa or bed to anchor the room with character. Whimsical prints work especially well in spaces that feel a bit too polished or safe, because they break the tension and make a room feel genuinely lived-in.

What size whimsical print should I choose for a nursery or kids' room?

For a nursery, we recommend a 30x40cm or 40x50cm framed print hung at adult eye level above a changing table or crib. You're the one staring at it during 3am feeds, so pick something that makes you smile. For an older child's room, go bigger with a 50x70cm print at a slightly lower hanging height so they can actually enjoy it. Our whimsical nursery wall art arrives ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you can get it on the wall during nap time without a DIY crisis.

How do I mix playful prints with the rest of my decor without it looking chaotic?

The trick is to match your frame finish across the grouping, not the art style. Pick all black frames or all natural oak, then let the artwork itself be as quirky and varied as you like. A gallery wall of three to five fun quirky art prints in matching frames reads as intentional rather than random. Our solid wood frames come in consistent finishes, so ordering multiple prints gives you that cohesion automatically. Stick to one wall rather than scattering playful prints around the room, and the space will feel curated rather than cluttered.

Will the colours in these prints look as vibrant in person as they do on screen?

They'll actually look better. Our customers tell us this constantly, and it's because we use museum-grade giclée printing on thick matte paper that gives colour real depth without any screen glare. The matte finish means colours feel rich and saturated rather than shiny and washed out, which is especially important for whimsical art prints where bold colour is half the charm. Our inks are rated to last hundreds of years without fading, even in direct sunlight, so what you hang today will still look vivid decades from now.

What makes whimsical art different from other playful art styles like pop art or cartoon prints?

Whimsical art has a dreamlike, slightly surreal quality that sets it apart from the graphic punch of pop art or the flatness of cartoon illustration. Think unexpected colour combinations, imaginative subjects, and a sense of gentle humour rather than bold irony. It's the style that works in the most rooms precisely because it's warm rather than edgy. If you're after playful wall art that adds softness and imagination to a space rather than making a loud statement, whimsical prints are the way to go.
