    How do I hang art prints?

    It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

    Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

    Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

    Is the hand-lettering readable up close, or just a texture?

    It's genuinely legible at close range — you can read the 32 bearings, from North by East round to North by West, in the original 18th-century script. From a metre or two back it reads more as fine texture, which is why this piece rewards hanging at sitting or standing eye-level above a desk or console.

    Will the soft mustard and pink clash with cool grey or blue walls?

    The mustard sits warm and the pink is very dusty, so against cool greys they read as warm contrast rather than a clash. Against navy or deep green walls they glow. The combination to avoid is a strong peach or salmon wall — the pink ring will fight it.

    Does the print show the full original chart or just the compass rose?

    Just the compass rose detail — the 32-point star, the inner orb and the pink and sage degree rings. The surrounding chart, cartouche and coastlines from the 1748 Bowen original are not included, which is why it reads as a focused decorative piece rather than a working map.
