    About This Art

Most cityscape prints behave. This one picks a side. The Dutch gable houses lean and tilt in soft, painterly blocks of warm brown, peach, slate blue and dark green, with a little white boat drifting past pink flowers in the canal.

Put it up and the room reads as travelled and a bit playful. The colours are soft enough to live with daily, but the row of houses gives the wall real character.

It does its best work above a sofa, sideboard or hallway console — anywhere a wide, horizontal shape can stretch out and be read across the room.

Pair it with linen upholstery, warm timber, cream ceramics and a touch of brass. A few green plants echo the trees along the canal nicely.

Don't crowd it with other busy patterned art or a second strong cityscape. This one wants to be the talking point on its wall. Printed on thick fine-art paper with a soft matte finish.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the row of houses centred or does the composition pull to one side?

The houses run fairly evenly across the full width, with the church spire sitting just left of centre. The small boat in the canal sits slightly right, which gives a gentle balance. It hangs cleanly centred above a sofa or console without looking lopsided.

Will the warm browns and peach clash with a cool grey sofa?

It can. The dominant tones are warm — soft brown, peach and cream — so a strongly cool grey scheme will fight it. If your room leans warm or neutral (oat, linen, oak, cream), it settles in easily. Against cool grey, soften the room first with timber or a warm-toned rug.

Is there a lot of fine detail or is it mostly painted blocks?

It's painterly rather than photographic. Each house reads as a soft block of colour with simple window shapes, gables and a few painted trees and flowers below. There's plenty to look at up close, but no tiny lettering or photographic detail — it reads well from across a room.
