    About This Art

From the doorway, the standing dog shape reads clean. Up close, not polite. It is hundreds of restless pen lines that only settle into a beagle when you step back. That double-take is what the piece does to a wall. A plain white or pale grey wall gets movement without colour, and a room full of straight edges gets something loose to look at. Hang it in a hallway at eye level, above a low sideboard in the living room, or on a study wall beside a desk. Pair it with pale wood, black metal, linen and simple ceramics. Don't crowd it with busy patterned art or heavy colour either side; the tangle needs quiet space around it to read properly. As a canvas, the white ground carries round the edge and keeps the drawing feeling unbounded.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the dog still be recognisable from across the room?

Yes, and that's the point. Step back and the scribbles resolve into a standing beagle with clear ears, muzzle and tail. Up close you mostly see the tangle of pen lines. Hang it where people can view it from about two to three metres and both readings work.

Does it need a plain wall behind it?

It works best on plain painted walls in white, off-white, pale grey or soft greige. Patterned wallpaper competes with the linework and blurs the shape. If your wall is papered, give the piece a wide margin of clear space or move it to a quieter wall nearby.

Can I hang it with colourful art?

Yes, but keep the neighbours simple. It sits happily beside one or two calm pieces with plenty of white space, or other black-and-white drawings. Avoid busy multi-colour abstracts either side, as the fine grey and black lines lose definition when strong colour sits next to them.
