    About This Art

    'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of deep coral peonies on a near-black ground. This is a William Morris-inspired botanical with a small bluebird at the centre, painted in the tight, patterned style of the Arts and Crafts era.

    Put it up and the room gets quieter and richer at the same time. The dark background pulls a wall together; the coral and gold pick up lamplight in the evening. It becomes the thing people look at.

    It works above a bed, a sideboard or a reading chair, and earns its place in a narrow hallway where a single strong piece does more than three timid ones.

    Pair with velvet, aged leather, brass handles and warm wood. Deep painted walls — forest green, inky blue, plaster pink — flatter it especially well.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    Will the near-black background look too heavy in a small room?

    Not if you commit to it. In a small room with a deep painted wall — forest green, inky blue, plaster pink — the dark ground reads as cosy rather than heavy. It's pale walls with a dark print that tend to feel awkward; matching the depth around the print is what makes it sit right.

    Does the bird sit in the centre, or off to one side?

    The bird sits roughly centre-right, facing right, with the largest coral peony bottom-left. The composition feels balanced rather than strictly symmetrical, so it works above a bed or console without needing a mirrored companion on the other side.

    Can I hang this in a room that already has patterned wallpaper?

    Tricky. The print is dense with foliage and pattern in its own right, so a second pattern on the wall behind it usually ends up fighting it. It looks best against a plain, deep painted wall, or a very quiet wallpaper in a single tone.
