    About This Art

First glance: black scribble. Second glance: the border collie doing something smarter. What looks like a knot of ink pulls itself into a standing dog, ears up, head turned, ready to work. Hung on a plain wall it gives a quiet room a jolt of energy without adding colour, which makes it easy to live with. It works above a console in a hallway, on a study wall behind a desk, or off-centre in a living room where there is clear space either side. Pair it with pale wood, black metal, white ceramics and plenty of texture in the textiles. Don't crowd it with small pictures or busy wallpaper; the loops need breathing room. As a canvas the edges soften slightly and the drawing feels closer to the artist's hand.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Does the dog still read clearly from across the room?

Yes. The tangle sits in the body, while the head, ears and legs are drawn in solid black, so the border collie shape holds from several metres away. Step closer and the loops take over. That double reading is the point, and it works best when you hang it large enough for the head to stay legible.

Will this look too busy on a white wall?

White walls actually suit it. Roughly two thirds of the image is open white space, so the drawing floats rather than crowds. Give it clear wall either side and avoid pinning it between shelves or pictures. On a mid-grey or soft off-white wall the lines feel a touch calmer if you want less snap.

Is it a good match for other pet pictures we already own?

It sits happily next to photographs and simple line drawings in black and white, but it will overpower soft watercolour pet portraits. If you want a pair, use a second scribble animal or a plain typographic piece at the same size, and keep both in the same frame colour.
