    Before anyone mentions loose line drawing, notice what the black ink does to pale oak. Against warm wood and off-white walls, all that scribbled pen work suddenly looks sharp and deliberate. It gives a quiet room a bit of edge and a bit of humour at the same time. Hang it in a hallway, above a low sideboard, or on a study wall where you pass it often. It sits happily with plain linen, black metal, cane and simple ceramics. Keep the wall around it plain and give it space either side; busy wallpaper or a patterned wall will swallow the lines. As a canvas it reads softer and more hand-drawn, ready to hang straight from the box.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    Is the breed clear enough to read as a border terrier?

    Yes. The scruffy beard, folded ears and low square stance are all there, so terrier owners tend to spot it straight away. The lines are loose rather than exact, so it reads as a character portrait rather than a breed-standard study. Step back a metre or two and the shape settles.

    Will the scribbly lines look messy on a wall?

    From a normal viewing distance the tangle resolves into a clean dog shape on a white background. Up close you see the pen loops, which is the appeal. Give it a plain wall and a little breathing space either side and it looks deliberate, not chaotic.

    Does it need to be large to work?

    Medium is the sweet spot on paper. Too small and the dense scribbling in the body starts to close up into a grey mass. Around A2 to A1 the lines stay open and the face keeps its expression. On canvas, size up again so the loops stay readable.
