    About This Art

Capuchin Monkey, The Leaf Umbrella shows a white-faced capuchin mid-stride, one hand wrapped round the stem of a huge leaf it holds over its head like an umbrella. It suits anyone who likes animal art with some wit and a strong decorative edge. The monkey's cream face and espresso-brown coat sit on an olive-green ground, with pink heliconia flowers climbing up both sides and a mustard and dark-green striped border round the edge. That border lets it hold its own on a wall without help. Try it against rattan, cane, terracotta or a deep green wall, or over a walnut console in a living room. In a kids' room it brings in colour without going babyish. Choose medium or large so the leaf veins and the striped trim read from across the room. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

What size works best for this capuchin monkey piece?

Medium suits most walls above a console, chest of drawers or bed. If you want it to anchor a gallery wall or fill a big living room wall, go large, because the striped border and the leaf veins carry better at that scale. Very small sizes lose some of the flower and fur detail.

Is it suitable for a child's room as well as a living room?

Yes. The cheeky monkey and the leaf-as-umbrella joke appeal to children, and the olive, mustard and pink palette is grown-up enough for a living room or bedroom. It works well in a jungle-themed nursery or kids' room and will still suit the space as the child gets older, as it doesn't rely on cartoon styling.

What wall colours suit the green and pink palette?

Deep olive, sage, terracotta and warm off-white all work. A dark green wall lets the border blend in and puts the focus on the monkey, while warm white makes the stripes stand out more. Avoid cold blue-greys, which fight the mustard. Blush pink walls pick up the heliconia flowers for a softer, more decorative feel.
