    About This Art

February is the month this one earns its wall. Outside, the garden has gone to brown sticks, the light stops at four, and a room with cream walls starts to look like porridge. Hang it above the kitchen table and the cobalt does what the window cannot. That blue holds its colour under a plain pendant bulb, the green leaves pick up any houseplant you have managed to keep alive, and the mustard centres warm the whole thing so it never feels cold. Pale wood table, white ceramics on the shelf. Nothing else blue nearby. Come July the real hydrangeas catch up with it. Until then it carries the room. On canvas the brushy petals read like paint, with no glass to catch the kitchen light.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the cobalt clash with a navy sofa?

It will compete rather than clash. Cobalt and navy are close enough that the eye keeps comparing them, and the sofa usually loses. If the sofa is navy, hang it on a different wall or move it to the kitchen or dining room. Against cream, oatmeal or deep green upholstery the blue has nothing to argue with and reads cleaner.

What size works above a dining table?

Go large. Above a table the artwork is seen from seated height and from across the room, so the flower head needs to read as one shape rather than a cluster of small petals. Aim for roughly half to two thirds of the table width, hung so the bottom edge sits about 30cm above the table top.

Does it work in a north-facing kitchen?

Yes, and arguably better than in a sunny one. Flat north light drains soft colours, but this blue is strong enough to hold under it, and the cream ground stays bright instead of turning grey. Put it on the wall that faces the window so it catches whatever daylight comes in, and use a neutral white bulb in the evening.
