About This Art
Yes, a Victorian ink illustrator knew how to charm a room — and how to cut. The dog is drawn in quick black lines on aged cream paper, and the double border keeps all that movement neatly boxed in. Hung up, it does two jobs at once: it warms a wall with a bit of humour, and it holds its shape from across the room because the contrast is so clean. Good above a hallway bench, a study desk, a low sideboard or a kitchen worktop. Pair it with painted panelling, aged leather, striped cotton and warm timber. Don't drown it in busy pattern or hang it beside bright, saturated colour work — the fine linework needs quiet either side. As a canvas, the soft matt surface takes the shine off and reads more like an old book plate.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.
Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?
Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.
You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.
How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

What's your return policy?
If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.
We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.
Is this definitely a cockapoo, or could it pass for another scruffy breed?
It reads as a cockapoo — shaggy coat, floppy ears, short legs and a flag of a tail. That said, the drawing is loose enough that owners of scruffy terriers, schnoodles and cockerpoo crosses often see their own dog in it. If you want an exact likeness of a specific dog, this isn't that.
Will the fine ink lines still read from across a room?
The heavier outlines and the double border hold up from two or three metres, so you'll always read the running dog shape. The finer coat texture is a close-up reward. If the wall is only viewed from a distance, size up a tier so the detail doesn't disappear.
Does the striped outer edge clash with patterned walls or textiles?
The thin stripes are part of the artwork, not a mount, so they can fight with striped wallpaper or strong checks right next to it. On a plain painted wall it just looks like an old printed plate. If your wall is patterned, a slim black frame gives it a clean break.
