    About This Art

Decide the frame first and the rest follows. Black turns the deep red ground into a solid block and sharpens the grey stripes, so the whole square holds a kitchen wall on its own. Oak does the opposite. The mustard flowers come forward and the cat softens into something a farmhouse dresser is happy to sit under. Both work. It comes down to the room. White kitchens with wooden worktops want black, hung at eye level on the wall beside the window where the red can carry it. Bedrooms with cream bedding and a rush-seat chair want oak and a lower hang. Skip white. Against that burgundy a pale edge fights the cream fur and the cat loses its outline. On canvas the red runs to the edge of the stretcher, so the frame is a wrap rather than a border.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the deep red fight with my kitchen cabinets?

Only if the cabinets are red too. Against white, cream, sage or pale wood doors the burgundy ground reads as the single warm block in the room and the cabinets look calmer for it. Navy cabinets also work, the two deep colours sit side by side rather than clash. Dark grey is the one to watch, it can make the red look heavy.

Is it too dark for a child's room?

The red is deep but the cat is cream and takes up a good third of the square, so the overall effect is warm rather than gloomy. In a room with cream walls and a wooden bed it feels cosy, like a storybook cover. Keep the other colours in the room soft and the burgundy stays friendly rather than dominant.

Can I hang it as a pair with another animal picture?

Yes, and a pair works best when the partner shares the burgundy or mustard but changes the animal. A folk hare or bird on a similar ground gives you two squares that read as a set. Avoid pairing it with a second cat, two characters of the same kind compete rather than converse. Hang the pair with a gap of about a hand's width.
