    About This Art

We like pet portraits best when they come with a little abrasion. This one has flat colour, a folk-art edge, and the kind of dry humour that earns its place on a wall instead of just decorating it.

Put it up and the room loosens. A kitchen feels more like a family kitchen. A hallway stops being just a corridor. The cream background reads as warm rather than beige, so it lifts pale walls without going chalky.

It sits well above a kitchen bench, in a hallway between coat hooks and the door, or in a snug corner of a living room near a reading chair. Eye-level is fine — it rewards being looked at properly.

Pair with pine or oak, cream linen, striped textiles, stoneware in earthy colours, and a bit of brass. Plain backgrounds let the polka-dot jumper do its job.

Don't sit it next to another loud pattern or a second pet print — it works best as the personality piece in the room. The canvas softens the flat colours slightly and suits busier family rooms.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the cream background look yellow on a white wall?

It reads as warm cream rather than yellow, so it sits softly against bright white walls without clashing. On warmer off-white or plaster walls it blends in even more. If you want the cat and dog to pop more, a black or dark wood frame gives a clean edge against either wall colour.

Is this too playful for a grown-up living room?

It has a retro folk-art feel rather than a cartoon one, so it works in adult rooms with a bit of personality — kitchens, hallways, snug corners. It's not nursery art. If your living room is strictly minimal and serious, it will feel out of place, but in a warm, lived-in room it lands well.

Does the dog's polka-dot jumper dominate the print?

The dotted jumper is the loudest element, but the black cat balances it visually on the left, so the eye moves across the pair rather than locking onto the pattern. In person the dots read as cheerful detail, not a graphic shout. It pairs better with plain textiles than with other busy patterns nearby.
