    About This Art

Open the curtains at mid-morning; the rust brown will handle the drama. Daylight picks up the warm feather markings and the whole wall feels a little older and more considered, in a good way. Hang it in a study, a hallway or beside a bedroom chest, low enough that you can read the fine pencil detail as you pass. It sits happily with linen, aged leather, oak or dark wood, brass handles and a few stoneware pots. Keep the wall around it fairly plain — chalky off-white or soft sage — and resist pinning busy patterned pieces right next to it, because the pale background needs breathing space to do its job. As a canvas, the edges wrap cleanly and the surface reads softer and warmer from across the room.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the background actually cream rather than white?

Yes. The paper ground reads as a soft warm cream, not bright white. That matters when you're matching a wall: it sits beautifully against chalky off-white, oat or soft sage paint, but can look slightly yellowed next to a crisp brilliant-white wall or a cool grey-blue. If your walls are cool-toned, a white frame or mount will help bridge the difference.

Will the fine pencil detail still show at a smaller size?

The bird itself holds up small, but the pencil grasses, the plate number and the tiny caption line get very delicate below medium size. If you want people to notice those details, go medium and hang it low — above a desk, chest or console — where it's viewed from around a metre or two rather than across a room.

Does it work on its own or does it need a matching bird print?

It works solo above a low piece of furniture, with plenty of plain wall either side. It also sits very naturally in a set of three or four antique bird or botanical studies on similar cream grounds. Keep companions in the same warm brown and rust family and give each piece an equal, generous gap.
