    About This Art

Start with the warm gold; it'll wake every dark walnut around it. A wide flock of cranes lifts across a gilded background, with bamboo to one side and plum blossom reaching in from above.

Once it's up, the room reads warmer and slower. The gold catches lamps in the evening and pulls everything towards it, so other corners feel quieter by comparison.

It wants width — above a long sofa, a sideboard, or as a dining-room feature. Give it a metre or so of clear wall and don't crowd the edges.

Pair with deep timber, low linen seating, black lacquer or rattan, and stoneware in cream and clay. A chalky off-white or deep ink wall behind makes the gold sing.

Don't fight it with another big statement piece on the same wall — let this one carry the room. The canvas wrap suits a relaxed finish; framed canvas works if you want a sharper edge.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Does the gold background actually look metallic or is it a flat warm yellow?

It reads as warm gold rather than shiny metallic foil — closer to the look of aged gold leaf in old screen paintings. In evening lamplight it warms up noticeably and catches the light softly, but in daylight it sits as a rich, slightly textured warm tone rather than a mirror finish.

Will the cranes feel too busy on a wall above a patterned sofa?

Probably, yes. The flock has a lot of movement across the width, so it works best above plain or lightly textured upholstery — linen, bouclé, leather. If your sofa already has a print or strong pattern, the wall behind it will start to compete and the piece loses its calm.

Is the composition balanced or does it pull to one side?

It pulls gently to the left — most of the cranes face and lift in that direction, with bamboo on the far left and plum blossom dropping in from the upper right. Hang it centred on the wall rather than centred on the furniture, so the visual weight sits where you want it.
