    About This Art

Give the chalky off-white wall one hard decision, and let everything else relax. This is a pencil drawing of a dachshund curled nose-to-tail, and it does its work quietly. Hung up, it pulls the eye to one soft, dark shape and lets the rest of the room stay plain. It suits a bedroom above the headboard, a hallway at eye level, or the wall behind a desk where you look up often. Keep the company simple: linen, painted furniture, pale wood, a wool throw, black metal fittings. Skip busy patterned wallpaper and heavy gold detail either side of it — the fine pencil lines get lost when there is too much going on. On premium fine-art paper the pencil shading stays crisp and the white background reads as part of the wall.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

    Made responsibly
FSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the white background match my white walls or look off?

The background is a clean bright white, so on off-white or chalky walls you will see a soft edge where the paper meets the wall. Most people like that effect. If you want the shape to sit sharply against the wall, a slim black frame draws a clear line around it and stops the white drifting.

Is the detail still readable in a smaller size?

The pencil work is very fine, especially around the ears, muzzle and paws. At small sizes it still reads clearly as a sleeping dachshund, but the individual hair strokes soften. If you want to see that level of detail from a step or two back, go medium or larger and hang it around eye level.

Does it work in a room with lots of colour?

Yes, and it often helps. Because there is no colour in the drawing at all, it acts as a break in a room with strong paint or patterned textiles. Keep the wall around it fairly plain though — busy wallpaper directly behind will compete with the fine grey lines.

Can I hang it with other dog prints?

It pairs best with other black and white or pencil drawings rather than colourful dog illustrations. Two or three simple animal drawings in matching frames, with this one in the centre as the largest, keeps the group calm and deliberate.
