    About This Art

Test it this way: if the bedroom feels safe, size up. This is a pencil drawing of a sleeping cocker spaniel, all soft greys against plain white, and it brings the temperature of a room down instantly. Hung above a chest of drawers or along a hallway, it gives the eye somewhere gentle to land without adding colour or clutter. It sits comfortably with linen bedding, wool rugs, pale wood and cream ceramics, and the wide shape means it fills a run of wall a single upright piece would leave looking thin. Don't crowd it with busy patterned art or bright colour blocks either side — this one wants a little breathing space. As a canvas the surface takes the light softly, so the white background reads warm rather than stark.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the white background look odd against a white wall?

It can blur at the edges on a bright white wall, which is why we suggest a slim black frame or the framed canvas option. The dark edge draws a clean line around the drawing and gives the greys something to push against. On off-white, pale grey or soft beige walls it sits happily with no frame at all.

How big should I go so the fur detail still reads?

Medium is the sweet spot for a bedroom or hallway, and large works above a sofa or wide chest. Go too small and the fine hatched lines in the coat compress into flat grey. Leave roughly 15-20cm of clear wall on each side so the wide shape looks deliberate rather than squeezed in.

Does it work in a room with other pet things already in it?

Yes, and it usually calms them down. Because the drawing is grey and white with no pattern, it does not compete with a dog bed, baskets, leads or toys. Keep the wall around it clear and let the drawing be the one considered pet reference in the room.

Can I pair it with a second piece?

It pairs well with another quiet monochrome drawing of similar width, hung side by side with a consistent gap. Keep the second piece just as restrained: a line drawing, a botanical sketch or a soft black and white photograph. Two wide landscape pieces stacked also work above a low sideboard.
