    About This Art

April is when this one wakes up. The clocks have gone forward, the evenings stretch, and a wall that looked fine all winter suddenly looks empty. Give it the wall behind the sofa, or the one you face from the desk, and the red-orange ground does the job the heating did in February. Pink and sky blue read loud, so the room around it can stay plain. Off-white plaster, a leather chair that has seen some use, one shelf of books. Keep the rest quiet. By July it earns its keep twice over, because with the windows open and the light coming in flat and warm, the colour holds where a softer picture would wash out. Come October the orange starts to match the season outside. Then winter, and it carries the room alone. On canvas the orange runs right to the edges with no glass between you and it.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the orange ground clash with my walls?

Against off-white, pale grey or white it looks exactly as intended, the orange glows and the pink and blue sit cleanly inside it. Against warm paint it struggles. Terracotta, coral or peach walls share too much with the ground and the edges blur. Navy or deep green walls work surprisingly well, since the orange and blue in the picture pull the wall colour into the composition rather than fighting it.

Does it suit a teenager's room or a den?

Yes, and it ages better than most sport art because the stadium is a piece of history rather than a current team. It gives a teenager colour and a subject without a logo. In a den or snug it pairs well with a dark sofa, a games console and a single floor lamp. Keep bedding and curtains in one solid colour so the picture stays the only pattern in the room.

Is it too much for a small living room?

Small rooms cope with one strong picture better than with several weak ones. Give it the main wall at a good size, keep every other wall bare, and the room reads as deliberate rather than cramped. The mistake is adding more colour elsewhere. Let the sofa, rug and curtains stay in black, grey or off-white, and the orange and pink do all the lifting a small room needs.
