    About This Art

    Think of it as Hiroshige with less reverence and better instincts. A wide stretch of Edo Bay at sunset, with fishermen hauling a net on a long sandy shore and a thin band of pink behind blue-grey hills.

    Once it's on the wall, the room slows down. The eye travels from the foreground figures out across the water to the horizon, which is a useful trick in a room that feels closed in or short on depth.

    It works best at eye level above a low piece of furniture — a console, a sideboard, a chest of drawers, or the foot of a bed. Hallways and studies suit it too.

    Pair it with pale oak, linen, stoneware and the odd brass detail. Paper lampshades and rush matting feel right.

    Don't crowd it with other busy pictures or bright modern prints — the shoreline needs quiet on either side. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang.

    Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

    Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

    When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

    Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

    Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

    You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

    How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

    Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

    Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

    If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

    Is the red-pink band along the horizon strong, or quite subtle?

    It's a thin band — maybe two centimetres across the print — but it carries a lot of the mood. Against the cooler blues and sandy tones it reads as a soft, warm sunset glow rather than a bright stripe. On the wall, you notice it when you look, but it doesn't shout from across the room.

    Will this look too busy with all the small figures along the shore?

    The figures are small and grouped tightly along the lower third, so from a normal viewing distance they read as a single line of activity rather than busy detail. Up close, they reward a longer look. Overall the composition feels calm, with most of the page given over to water and sky.

    Does it work in portrait orientation above a standard console?

    Yes — it's a portrait-format print, which makes it a natural fit above a console, sideboard or low chest. Medium size sits well at eye level on a standard 80–100cm tall piece. For wider walls, hang it slightly off-centre and balance with a small object on the surface below rather than a second print.
