    About This Art

Some botanical prints match a room. This one resets its pecking order. The owl stares out from a deep navy ground while cream, peach and mustard flowers crowd in around it.

The room slows down once it goes up. Conversation lands a little quieter, the lighting feels more considered, and any plain wall behind it suddenly looks like it was waiting for this.

It belongs on a feature wall in a study, snug or hallway, where you walk past it and catch the owl's eye on the way through. Eye-level above a sideboard or low bookcase works best.

Pair it with aged oak, dark leather, brass fittings and ceramics in cream or warm brown. A deep green, navy or clay-painted wall will make the dark background sit beautifully flush.

On canvas, the weave softens the dark ground and gives the florals a tapestry feel.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the dark navy background look too heavy in a small room?

Not if you give it a painted wall to sit against rather than fighting bright white. Deep green, navy, clay or even a warm off-white actually helps the dark ground feel intentional. In a tight study, snug or hallway the heaviness reads as cosy, not closed-in.

Is the owl looking straight ahead or off to one side?

Straight ahead. The owl's eyes meet yours head-on, which is why this piece works best somewhere you walk towards it — a hallway end wall, the wall behind a desk, or above a console you pass daily. It's less effective tucked into a corner you only see at an angle.

Does the text on the poster read as decoration or as actual signage?

Decoration. The 'Cotton Prints Exhibition' and 'South Kensington' wording is styled like a vintage museum poster but it's part of the artwork, not a real event listing. Most people read it as period typography rather than information, much like an old Penguin book cover.
