    About This Art

Most colourful pieces warm a room or cool it. This one does both, and the split is useful. The deep greens and slate blues take the temperature down across a tall stretch of wall, then the gold at the centre pushes back, so a cold north-facing hallway stops feeling like a corridor and a warm south-facing landing keeps its calm. Hang it on a stair wall painted chalky white and the whole flight picks up the yellow. Against a plaster pink or clay wall the greens go cooler and the piece reads as a window onto shade. Keep the woodwork dark. Black-stained treads or a charcoal banister let the purples and reds do their work without competing. It needs a tall wall. Give it the full height. On canvas the thick paint texture shows at arm's length, with nothing between you and it.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the colours clash with a green wall?

A deep green wall is the best backdrop it can have. The sage and forest greens in the piece sink into the wall, and the gold, purple and slate blue come forward, so the picture reads as a bright opening rather than a busy rectangle. Pale sage walls work too. The one green to avoid is a lime or acid shade, which fights the gold centre.

How tall should I go for a stair wall?

Go taller than instinct says. On a stair wall the eye travels up with the treads, and a piece under 80cm tall looks like an afterthought halfway up. Around 100cm tall suits most Victorian and Edwardian hallways, hung so the centre sits at eye level from the hall floor. Leave a clear hand's width of wall on each side.

Does it work in a room with lots of pattern?

Only if the pattern is small and quiet, such as a fine stripe or a plain weave with texture. The piece carries hundreds of small shapes of its own, so a large floral or a bold geometric rug nearby will compete and both will lose. Plain velvet, plain linen and a solid colour wall give it the room it needs.
