    About This Art

Give the hallway wall one hard decision, and let everything else relax. This is a loose brush study of a horse mid-gallop, held in black, grey and a little soft sand on an off-white ground. Hung up, it gives a quiet room one point of movement, so the rest of the space can stay plain and uncluttered. It suits a hallway, a study wall or the space above a low console at eye level. Keep the surroundings simple: pale timber, linen, wool, a single plant. Avoid crowding it with busy pattern, heavy gilt-framed pieces or a tight cluster of small prints — the empty space around the brushwork is doing half the work. On premium fine-art paper, the dry brush edges and open white ground stay crisp.

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will this look too pale against a white wall?

The off-white ground is slightly warmer than most brilliant-white paint, and the black brushmarks give it plenty of definition. On a very white wall a slim black frame helps by drawing an edge around the piece. Against stone, grey or greige walls it reads well with no framing help at all.

Does it need a lot of wall space?

It benefits from it. Around a third of the image is empty ground, so a cramped wall makes the composition feel squeezed. Allow roughly 70cm of clear wall or more and leave breathing room on both sides. In a narrow hallway, centre it on the longest unbroken stretch rather than beside a door frame.

    Is the horse deliberately unfinished?

Yes. Legs, mane and tail trail off into half-made brushmarks, which is what gives the piece its sense of speed. If you want every hoof, muscle and marking clearly resolved, a more detailed equestrian study will suit you better. Up close you can see individual dry-brush strokes and the open white between them.
