About This Art
Most people buy a ghost small. Resist that. At 50cm wide and more, the red check reads as a tablecloth across the whole wall and the room takes the joke seriously, which is the point. Kitchens suit it best. Put it on the wall behind a scrubbed pine table, where the red picks up enamel mugs and the cream weave settles against plain white tiles. A kids' room works too, hung large enough that the eyes meet theirs from the bed. Below A3 the gingham turns to texture and the humour goes with it. Keep the rest of the wall bare so the scale does the talking. One card-sized ghost is a gag. Go big and it becomes a decision. The canvas comes stretched over a wooden frame, ready to hang.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Will it look like a Halloween decoration for the rest of the year?
Less than you would think. In daylight the red check does most of the work and the room reads as picnic rather than spooky. Hung in a kitchen with cream tiles or a pine table, visitors tend to see a friendly folk painting first and the ghost second. It only turns into a Halloween piece if you surround it with pumpkins.
What size should I choose for a kitchen wall?
Go wider than feels sensible. From about 50cm across, the check reads as cloth and the figure holds the wall, which is what makes the piece work. Smaller than A3 it becomes a postcard that the kettle and the toaster compete with. Measure the clear wall above your table or worktop and fill around two thirds of it.
Does the red clash with a warm kitchen?
It depends on the other reds. Cream, off-white, pine and oak all sit happily under it, and one red object such as an enamel kettle ties it in. The trouble starts with a second red pattern, a gingham blind or a terracotta floor with red tiles. Keep the surrounding textiles plain and the red stays cheerful instead of loud.
