    About This Art

Back in the 1920s, this kind of geometric pattern belonged to another kind of home — hotel lobbies, ocean liners, jazz-era ballrooms. Now it works on a wall in your own house. Put it up and the room sharpens. The gold lines catch the light, the black drops back, and everything around it starts to look more deliberate. Best above a sideboard, a low console, or a velvet sofa, where the symmetry can do its job. Pairs well with dark green or navy upholstery, brass fittings, smoked glass and walnut. Don't crowd it — let one bold piece nearby (a brass lamp, a curved mirror) carry the conversation. The canvas weave softens the gold lines slightly for a less glossy finish.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

From sizing to framing and print quality, Fab's art experts break it all down—so you can find the right art for your space.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Does the gold actually look metallic, or is it just printed yellow?

It's a printed warm gold — a mix of antique gold and deeper bronze tones rather than a foil or metallic ink. In lamplight it reads convincingly gilded against the near-black ground, but it won't physically shimmer the way real metal leaf does.

Will this work in a small room or does it need a big wall?

It can work in a small room, but it needs to be the main thing on the wall. The pattern is dense and symmetrical, so it wants breathing space around it. In a snug or small dining room, go a size down and keep the surrounding walls quiet.

Does the pattern repeat or is it a single composition?

It's a single symmetrical composition, not a repeat tile — a central diamond and stepped fan with mirrored chevrons and pyramids fanning out either side. Read as one finished piece of art rather than wallpaper.
