    About This Art

Unlike most bird study art, this doesn't wait for approval. The bird stands tall and side-on, mustard and black feather markings running the full height against warm off-white paper. Put it up and a quiet wall gains a focal point that feels collected rather than bought. It suits a study or hallway at eye level, and sits comfortably above a desk, console or sideboard where there's a little breathing space either side. Keep the company warm and worn: dark wood, aged leather, linen, stoneware and brass. What it doesn't want is a busy patterned wallpaper behind it or a cluster of bright modern graphics nearby, both of which flatten the fine detail. As a canvas the soft paper tone reads as a warm matte panel.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

    What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the pale background look washed out on an off-white wall?

It holds up better than you would expect. The background is a warm aged off-white, so on a cooler white wall it reads as a soft cream panel rather than disappearing. If your wall is very close in tone, a darker wood frame gives the edge the definition it needs and the mustard and black feather markings do the rest.

Is there enough detail to go large?

Yes. The feather markings, the fine leg scales and the light pencil grass are all drawn crisply, so the bird gains presence at larger sizes rather than turning soft. Medium suits most walls above a desk or console. Go large only where you can stand back a metre or two and take in the full height.

Does it work if I only want one bird print rather than a set?

It does. The bird stands alone in profile with plenty of quiet space around it, so nothing about the composition feels like half a pair. Hung solo above a sideboard or in a narrow stretch of hallway it behaves like a single framed specimen, which is how these plates were originally displayed.
